Professional CV and artist statement

I graduated in Painting from the University of Pécs in 2001, and earned a second degree in visual art therapy in 2016. I have shown my work at university exhibitions in Szolnok, Prague and Pécs, and later in a thematic group exhibition. In my painting I am concerned with human relationships and natural phenomena: the different forms that connection can take. Several of my paintings were inspired by the tension between a woman’s creative power and her vulnerability. I am interested in the known and unknown boundaries of the world around us, its sustaining power, and the points where we meet these elements without being destroyed by them. I start from a thought, which the process of painting then shapes further. I work with lines, patches of colour and layers, with the tension between translucency and tactile relief. The graphic lines that appear in my paintings come from my experience with early linocuts and charcoal works.
